Refunds and cancellations

Last updated: [DATE]

Draft pending legal review. Stripe requires a published, reachable refund policy before it will complete account verification, so this needs to be live early -- but have an Irish solicitor review it before commercial launch.

Who sells your ticket

The seller is the event organiser, not sinfiesta. We provide the platform, and payment settles directly into the organiser's own Stripe account. The specific refund policy is therefore set by each organiser, within the limits below and Irish law.

If the event is cancelled

You are entitled to a full refund of the ticket's face value.

We refund our booking fee too. We don't keep it. Charging to administer a sale that never happened doesn't hold up, and EU price-transparency rules are moving in the same direction.

If the event is postponed

Your ticket stays valid for the new date. If you can't attend, the organiser must offer a refund of the face value. Our fee is returned either way.

If you change your mind

Tickets for dated leisure events are excluded from the 14-day right of withdrawal under Ireland's Consumer Rights Act 2022. This is a statutory exclusion and we disclose it expressly before you complete your purchase.

Beyond that, organisers may voluntarily offer refunds or exchanges. Those terms appear on the event page before you pay.

Transferring your ticket

You can transfer your ticket to someone else free of charge, or resell it at or below face value. Irish law expressly voids any contract term preventing this, so we don't get in your way -- the feature is built in.

Resale above the original price is prohibited by the Sale of Tickets (Cultural, Entertainment, Recreational and Sporting Events) Act 2021 for designated events and venues.

How to request a refund

  1. Open your order link -- the one emailed to you when you bought.
  2. Choose "Request refund" and select the tickets.
  3. If the organiser approves, or if the event is cancelled, the refund is processed automatically.

Money returns to the original payment method. It typically takes 5–10 business days to appear on your statement, depending on your bank.

If something goes wrong

Email support@sinfiesta.ie. If the issue is with the organiser and we can't resolve it, we'll help you document the case.
